Through the entire development cycle, MSW strategically selects investors, projects and end users that identify with their core values.

COMMUNITY-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT

Over the past 20 years, MSW has partnered with for-profit and non-profit developers/organizations on community-oriented development projects, from strategic acquisitions in distressed neighborhoods to the use of housing tax credits that bring workforce housing options to market. In 1997, MSW purchased and renovated South Side on Lamar, a 1.2M square foot mixed-used historic renovation, providing residential, office and retail space. The project not only provided unique space for artists and local, small businesses, but also jumpstarted the redevelopment of the Cedars Neighborhood just south of the Dallas Convention Center. MSW has delivered 500+ workforce housing units in the Dallas region, including 164 units at The Belleview near downtown Dallas and 336 units at Hutchins Gateway, working with Family Gateway as a co-developer for housing and an early childhood development center. Currently, 217 units at 2400 Bryan Street in the High Opportunity Area of Dallas’ Central Business District are in development in addition to the exploration of other high impact projects. Additionally, MSW has strategically acquired properties in southern Dallas and Houston alongside community-based partners to help demonstrate creative solutions to providing affordable housing and community amenities in areas where they are most needed.
